India Opt to Bowl; Uma Chetry Debuts – India vs Bangladesh, Women’s World Cup 2025

India Opt to Bowl and Hand Uma Chetry ODI Debut vs Bangladesh

India Women have won the toss and chosen to bowl first against Bangladesh Women in their final league fixture of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The hosts made three changes to their Playing XI — and the big news is the ODI debut of wicketkeeper Uma Chetry.

Star keeper Richa Ghosh has been rested after suffering a blow to her left hand in the match against New Zealand. India have also rotated all-rounder Sneh Rana and seamer Kranti Gaud to manage workload ahead of the semi-final against Australia next week.

Rain Delay: Drizzle pushed the toss back by 35 minutes and more rain followed after the toss. However, no overs were lost at the time of decision.

A fresh red-soil pitch offering bounce influenced Harmanpreet Kaur’s call to bowl first, backing India's batting depth to chase later. India are already confirmed to finish fourth on the points table regardless of the result.

For Bangladesh, this game is about pride. With only one win so far, the visitors can still jump up to sixth place with a victory. They have made one change — Sumaiya Akter replaces Fargana Hoque.
