Cyclone Montha Alert: Schools Closed in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha & Tamil Nadu

Cyclone Montha continues to intensify over the Bay of Bengal, forcing state authorities to shut schools in multiple coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a serious alert as the storm rapidly strengthens.

 Expected Landfall Timing & Location

The cyclone, which began as a deep depression on October 26, is projected to make landfall near Kakinada between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam on October 28 as a severe cyclonic storm.

• Andhra Pradesh: Schools closed from Oct 27 – 31 in many coastal districts.
